No matter how much we contemplate, discuss, and pray about a decision, it can still be difficult to know what God is calling us to do. In the same way that we ask friends and family to pray for us, we can ask the saints to intercede on our behalf. There are a few saints who have experience in helping people make big decisions.
St. Ignatius of Loyola
The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius were written to help people discern God’s will.
St. Alphonsus Liguori
Though he had a very successful law career, St. Alphonsus eventually discerned a call to the priesthood. He had a very practical, simple way of preaching that helped others to hear God’s call.
St. Joseph
The foster father of Jesus demonstrates that being obedient to what you know God is asking of you is the key to understanding and fulfilling God’s ultimate plan.
Be confident that with the help and intercession of these three saints, your patron saint, and your guardian angel, you will be able to discern what God wants for you in your own life.
