5 Signs Your Decision Aligns With God’s Plan

5 Signs You’re Following God’s Will For Your Life

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Jeremiah 29:11.

There is no doubt that God has a plan for you, but discovering what that plan is is a challenge all men face.

If you’re experiencing these 5 things, you can be confident you are doing what God asks of you.

  •  You follow the Commandments and teachings of the Church. God’s plan will never include anything that goes against the Word of God.
  • You spend time in prayer and frequent the Sacraments. Your life choices should always lead you closer to Christ. If you find yourself neglecting to make time to pray or unable to go to Mass, this may be a sign that you have strayed away from what God is asking of you.
  • You experience the fruit of the Spirit, even when things are difficult. The fruit of the Spirit is found in Galatians 5:22-23, “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” If you’re able to find these fruits in your life even in the midst of trials and struggles, then it is a sure sign you are fulfilling God’s will.
  • You are using your gifts and talents. You have a unique set of skills that God has given only to you to use to bring Him glory. If your current occupation isn’t putting these gifts and talents to use, maybe it’s time to rethink what you are doing.
  • Others affirm your calling. Many times when you’ve found your calling it will be affirmed by friends, family, and spiritual mentors in your life. If you lack the influence of godly people in your life, consider meeting with a spiritual director or attending a retreat to help you discern your decisions.
