From Thursday, December 1 through Friday, December 3, Graymoor will host a Holiday Shopping Fair, to be held at Our Lady of the Atonement Chapel. Artisans and artists will be on hand to sell goods, and food trucks will available.

St. Christopher’s Inn is not just a place where men in crisis can seek addiction treatment and recovery. It’s a home where they can come to heal and find spiritual hope and renewal.

Ministry to Christians around the world is a crucial part of At-One-Ment, and the Friars take their responsibility to those in need very seriously. To that end, the Friars are proud to work with the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America for infants in the Holy Land each December, and that tradition is still going strong. 

Fr. Brian Terry, SA recently visited the Atonement friar community in Japan. It was a wonderful time of sharing, introductions and communication as he met the wonderful friars working for Christ across the Pacific.

The Graymoor Ecumenical and Interreligious Institute is co-sponsoring a webinar next month, and it will happen roughly a month before the start of Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement’s community from Assisi, Italy attended an audience with His Holiness, Pope Francis, on October 31. The audience took place in observance of the official presentation of the 800 Franciscan Centenaries.

A group of Friars – some living, some who have gone before us in faith – have had the honor of serving in the noblest of ways during their lives and ministries, as members of the military. Each year on November 11, we honor and recognize all military veterans across the country.

Father Francis “Frank” Eldridge, SA, received the honor 10 years ago, for his service to the poor and marginalized. Throughout his ministry, Father Frank carried out many pastoral ministries, served as Founding Guardian of the Friars’ new Friary and managed the transfer of property gifted to the Friars in Manati, Puerto Rico.

As we prepare for the celebration of our Lord’s birth in the coming weeks, the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement will again be part of the annual Ecumenical Advent and Vespers Series. Each Sunday during Advent, at different churches in the area, ecumenical services will be offered as “an opportunity to experience the spirit of ecumenism.”
