The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement join Catholics around the world in praying, reflecting and preparing for a better future, as we observe Laudato Si’ Week, 2023.
The theme of this year’s Laudato Si’ Week comes from Amos, Chapter 5, verse 24: “But let justice roll on like a river; righteousness like a never-failing stream.”
Laudato Si’ is the second encyclical of Pope Francis, focused on environmentalism, ethics and Christian faith. Its title is taken from St. Francis of Assisi’s poem, the Canticle of the Sun, in which St. Francis praises God for creation and the beauty of the earth.
Laudato Si’ Week is held annually in May, and recognizes the care each of us can take for our common home.
