Advent Reflections (Week 2) – by Fr. Bob Warren, S.A.
Christmas holds a power that mere logic cannot explain; it is not a human invention. No one gathered and said, “Let’s create a holiday for everyone to be nicer to each other.”
While we’ve crafted many of the trappings of Christmas, including the date itself, the true inspiration for the day is a gift—the greatest gift the world has ever received: God’s only Son.
God’s way of judging is different from that of the world. Remember the angel’s message: “I bring you good news for all people.”
Yes, all people. Christmas is for everyone, regardless of who you are. If you feel overlooked by society or outcast from your church, if your job seems menial and life feels heavy with burdens, know that you have a special place in God’s heart and on His stage.
Whether you’re a saint or a sinner, you belong at the stable. Christ did not come to exclude anyone; His arms reach out to all who turn to Him.
Whoever we are and whatever we have done in the past, all of us belong at the stable.
