June marks the start of summer, days devoted to the outdoors, and the national celebration of fathers. On Father’s Day, we honor the men who play a paternal role in our lives. We look up to them as examples of wisdom and guidance.

Did you know that the Father’s Day celebration extends beyond bloodline and into our Church communities? Our priests are the fathers of our churches, and they deserve recognition for all they sacrifice to unite and strengthen our Catholic communities.

Father’s Day is June 16, so it’s time to start thinking about how you can recognize the fathers and fatherly mentors in your life. It can be as simple as sharing a meal together or joining as a family in prayer. After Mass on Father’s Day, tell your parish priest that you are praying for him and that you appreciate him!

If you’re looking for gift ideas, may we suggest something from the Graymoor Book and Gift Center? It’s the perfect place to find items for every father. In addition to religious books, rosaries and figurines, you’ll find specific items like mugs and plaques that will fill someone with joy this Father’s Day.

The bookstore is open Wednesday through Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, 9 AM to 3 PM. Stop in soon to find everything you need to celebrate the fathers in your life!
