The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement held their 31st Annual Sharing Hope Celebration Dinner on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the prestigious Pierre Hotel in New York City where over 200 guests were in attendance.

We honored special individuals that demonstrated the Friars’ charism, Franciscan spirit, and Mission of hope and healing to those suffering in need of help.

The Friars are honoring Dr. William & Mrs. MaryBeth Fessler for their faithful dedication and commitment in providing dental and nursing care to hundreds of orphaned children and serving those most in need. Their commitment to the children they serve at Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos in NPH Honduras is a testament to their passion. Their partnership with One World Surgery demonstrates their dedication to caring for those most in need. Through their Catholic faith, they have built comprehensive care and educational programs that ensures that NPH children and community members receive services year-round.

Mr. Chad McEachern and Dr. Susan Raymond were selected for this award for their compassionate commitment to God’s less fortunate through their work at the Edmundite Missions in Selma, AL. Through their comprehensive programs and services, their dedication of caring for others promotes the independence, dignity, and well-being of all those they serve. Building on a legacy of hope, they provide not only the highest quality of care, but also a dedication for all those they serve. They have demonstrated a commitment of improving the well-being of people in the Franciscan spirit – sharing our values of honoring and embracing the dignity of all people, ministering to those in need of physical and spiritual healing.

Dr. William & Mrs. Jeannnemarie Baker are receiving this award for their dedication to advancing the arts and sciences of television, and for promoting creative leadership in the industry. Whether you are serving the world of television or your home state of CT you bring hope to those less fortunate. Your work brings people together and improves each other’s life with love, compassion, and joy. Jeannemarie’s work at St. Paul’s Center in NYC in serving individuals facing homeless and mental illness, as well as her efforts in supporting the homebound through visits, communion, and prayer and for providing solace to those who have experienced loss, is truly remarkable and appreciated.
